The comedy series North of North has been renewed for a second season, following a successful first run across APTN, CBC, and Netflix.

Actress Anna Lambe, who stars in the series, made the first announcement on social media:

The show premiered in Canada on APTN and CBC in January 2025 and launched globally on Netflix in April.

The story follows Siaja, a young Inuk woman navigating life in the small Arctic community of Ice Cove after a public divorce, motherhood, a new job, and the comic challenges of doing that in small community where everyone knows each other.

Internationally, North of North debuted at No. 9 on Netflix’s global top 10 for English-language TV series and entered the platform’s top 10 in 27 countries.

The show became the most-watched new series on CBC Gem, the network’s streaming platform, and was one of the top programs on CBC among viewers aged 25-54, Canada’s public broadcaster said in a statement.

On APTN, it was the highest-performing new program on APTN lumi.

The series is produced by Red Marrow Media and Northwood Entertainment, with Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril serving as creators and executive producers.

The season two release date has yet to be confirmed.
