Arts Culture- a conversation with Mark Tewksbury on being gay in sports.

Arts -Culture- Lifestyle

Recently Jason Collins of the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the US  became the first mListenajor professional league player to come out as being gay.  The media made a big deal of it, but long before him, another elite class athlete had come out, Olympic gold -medal Canadian swimmer Mark Tewksbury.

At the time there was some adverse reaction to his subsequent professional life, but then he was engaged as an athlete site supervisor with the International Olympic Committee, an experience that he later left saying there was a double-standard in the IOC.

Today we hear him reading from his book and talking about his life and the IOC experience, and then also on the current situation with regard to sports and being gay.

I hope you enjoy this conversation with Mark Tewksbury.
