Denis Villeneuve film ‘Sicario’ in competition at Cannes

Denis Villeneuve, the acclaimed Quebec director is going to the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival next month in competition with his star-studded latest film, ‘Sicario‘.

The Oscar-nominated film maker will vie for the Palme d’Or against 16 other films, including Gus Van Sant’s The Sea of Trees, Todd Haynes’s Carol, and Paolo Sorrentino’s Youth.

Sicario features Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt  and Josh Brolin in the story of a government task force trying to take down the brutal head of a Mexican drug cartel.

The festival runs from the 13th to the 24th of May. *Note to Selfies: none allowed on the Red Carpet this year!
