The storm-force winds caused by the storm “Ivar” last week may have caused more damage than previously thought, Swedish news agency TT reports.

Between 4.5 and 6.5 million cubic metres of forest are thought to have been felled in northern Sweden as the storm passed, that is more than was first estimated, and it is also more damage than the storm Dagmar caused in the same area two years ago.

Up to 2,000 households were still without power Tuesday morning, as electricity companies tried to raise power lines.
