Bal en Blanc Rave-On

Montreal was the scene of another way to celebrate Easter last night. The “Bal en Blanc” is the all-night party in the city’s main convention centre, the Palais des Congres.

15,000 people, dressed in white danced the night away to music provided by some of the world’s most popular DJ’s. France’s David Guetta was featured along with Calvin Harris in this 19th annual edition. It’s a tradition that begins Easter Sunday night at nine and continues until Monday at noon.

The visual experience was provided by Montreal’s Moment Factory, the company known for its work with Madonna, Celine Dion and Cirque du Soleil, to name a few of its well-known clients.

Paul Gilbert, a spokesman for the Bal estimates nearly 25 per cent of the revellers come from outside Quebec, resulting in $500,000 in tourism dollars. (ck)
