Canadians in Algeria attack went overseas with 3rd man

A Canadian has been identified as a friend of two Canadians involved in the terror attack in Algeria in January. The public broadcaster, CBC, says Aaron Yoon went to the same school as Xristos Katsiroubas and Ali Medlej and travelled with them to South Africa. Yoon did not take part in the terrorist attack and is said to have broken off his ties with the other two a year ago. Authorities say he is now in prison in North Africa.

Canadian security officials will not confirm it but a muslim youth leader says he was questioned about the three by police. Yoon, of Korean origin, had apparently converted to islam. His family is refusing to comment beyond saying they spoke to Yoon two weeks ago and thought he was free to move around.
