This week our spotlight is on about a production from Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers. More specifically it’s about the the current production by choreographer Sasha Ivanochko.

Her latest work is a duet with Brendan Wyatt called “Speak, Love”. There’s a warning on the website advising of nudity and adult content. Sasha Ivanochko says people shouldn’t be shocked as we often see nudity, or implied nudity all the time in films, on TV, advertisements. It is being provocatively promoted but Ivanochko is adamant that people shouldn’t expect to be titillated, the nudity is only there to advance and express the work and the emotion of relationships, sometimes rocky, sometimes romantic, as two people work at being in love.
Sasha Ivanochko also speaks about dance as an art form, and how it is used to express emotion and concepts.
I hope you enjoy my conversation with Toronto and Montreal based contemporary dancer and choreographer Sasha Ivanochko.

As always, I appreciate your comments. Marc
