Several Canadians winners at Native American Music Awards

A number of Canadians were among the winners at the 2013 Native American Music Awards (NAMA) held last Friday (May 10) in Niagara Falls, New York at the Seneca Niagara Events Center.

Fawn Wood won in the Best Female Artist award, Ali Fontaine Best Country Recording, and Francois Couture the Best Producer award.

Singer Nelly Furtado was presented with the Living Legend award for her “leadership and contributions toward the advancement of Native American culture”.

Canadians were shortlisted in 19 categories.
