Raonic Victory in Thailand

Milos Raonic added another victory to a good year.  The 22-year old from Toronto beat top-seeded Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic  7-6 (4), 6-3 on Sunday.  “It feels great to win the title,” said Raonic, now 37-17 this season.

It’s the fifth tour victory for the Canadian tennis star, since the three in San Jose from 2011-13 and Chennai in 2012.

Currently ranked 11th, Raonic said he’s been working on his game since the loss to Rafael Nadal in August, at Montreal’s Rogers Cup.

Now it’s on to Tokyo, where he is hoping to carry the momentum into a victory to make up for last year’s loss in the final to Japan’s Kei Nishikori.

Milos Raonic has helped reinvigorate tennis in Canada, with TV ads now challenging the supremacy of hockey as Canada’s only game.
