you might be from Nova Scotia if…under a hurricane warning you have beer on your list of essential supplies
Nova Scotia, one of Canada’s east coast maritime provinces, is virtually surrounded by the sea. It’s certainly a part of their lives as anywhere you go in the province you’re really no more than about 100 kilometres from the sea. There’s also a strong celtic heritage. But hanging out on the edge of the country into the ocean and connected only by a narrow strip of land to the rest of the country, they’ve developed a bit of their own culture and heritage.
There are a few things that they do or say that make them instantly recognizable as Nova Scotians.
