The western Canadian province of Alberta has been ranked ninth among top tourist destinations by the U.K.’s Guardian newspaper. The province includes prairie grassland in the east and towering Rocky Mountains in the west.

A horseshoe-shaped, glass walkway will open in May affording a view of the Sunwapta Valley and crashing waterfalls below, notes the paper. And it is just an hour or two drive to world-class skiing. It adds the nearby city of Calgary “has gone from cowboy town to cosmopolitan cool.”
