On this edition of Politics Today RCI’s Wojtek Gwiazda returns to the issue of electoral reform. The government of Prime Minister Stephen Harper has announced a proposed Fair Elections Act that is meeting with criticism from electoral experts and opposition MPs.

Meanwhile, in the predominantly French-speaking province of Quebec, election day April 7th is getting closer, with no clear indication whether the ruling Parti Quebecois and Premier Pauline Marois will get the majority she hopes for, or even be elected.

And retired federal government employees got an unpleasant surprise when the government announced it was cutting down on its participation in health care payments, imposing a 100 per cent increase on the retirees, many of whom are on fixed incomes.
