Canada’s PM Harper, FM Baird, on Ukraine and Russia’s ‘provocations’

Listen

After a meeting with several East European ambassadors in Ottawa, Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird once again condemned Russia for its most recent actions in Ukraine.

Reports of pro-Russian separatists taking over buildings in eastern Russia on the weekend fuelled more of the Canadian condemnations that have been frequent in the last few weeks.

It was also announced that Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird will be leaving next week on a multi-nation tour of Eastern Europe to discuss the situation.

Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is continuing to call for restraint and direct and constructive dialogue between Kiev and Moscow, according to his spokesperson.

RCI’s Wojtek Gwiazda has a report.
