RCI wins diversity award

At a gala ceremony Wednesday night in Montreal, RCI was awarded one of the colourful “Lys de la Diversite” awards, a lys for diversity.

The relatively new Lys awards are to promote cultural diversity awards in French media in the province of Quebec,

RCI has won the award  in the web category .The category includes the blogs, websites, webtv, and webradio content contributing to and promoting cultural diversity.

More specifically, RCI won the award for the website “Aboriginals: the other story”

 The stories were originally researched by anthropologist Serge Bouchard who examined historical maps,  and documents and records from explorers,  sailors, traders and other merchants to learn about the aboriginal peoples both before and after contact.

In addition to English, the information is available on our website in the original French, as well as Chinese, Arabic, and Spanish.
