Lydia the great white shark back in Newfoundland waters

Lydia was tagged and named by the research group, Ocearch.  The non-profit, shark-tracking organization has observed Lydia travelling across the Atlantic Ocean.

Researchers say the abundant seal population may be what attracts sharks to the Grand Banks area, but they are still working on this hypothesis.

In March of 2013 Lydia stayed in the waters off southern Newfoundland for about a week.  It’s hard to say if she is welcome back this year.
