17th edition of Montreal’s Blue Metropolis literary festival

Back for its 17th edition, the annual Blue Metropolis Montreal International Literary Festival continues its mandate of bringing people of different cultures together “to share the pleasures of reading and writing.”

Inspired by an earlier event called “Write pour écrire” in 1996 the first Blue Metropolis Festival took place in 1999.

In addition to its usual mix of writers and readers, the festival is putting the spotlight on children and will feature a First Nations Indigenous Literary Prize. Among the festival’s fundraising events for its educational programs an evening called “Bad Girls’ Stories, Divas, Femmes Fatales and Women on the Edge.”
