Rosie MacLennan had the honour of going into these Summer Olympic Games in Rio carrying the flag for Canada. Now she’ll be returning home with another Gold medal for her performance on the trampoline today.
Four years ago in London, MacLennan’s trampoline victory provided Canada its only gold at those Games.
This gold medal is the second by a Canadian at these Olympics. Swimmer Penny Oleksiak won Canada’s first gold on Thursday night.
MacLennan’s 56.545 score beat all others among the eight competitors who made the final after two rounds of qualifiers.
