Sweden: food prices will fall, according to analyst
A Swedish supermarket is making the highest profits in Europe, but low-price chains are expected to force down prices next year.
A financial analyst tells Swedish Radio that food prices will probably fall by two percent, because of competition from firms such as Lidl and Netto.
Currently Swedish giant Ica is making the most money in Europe from food sales, but Anders Hansson at Danske Bank says Ica will have to meet the low-cost shops with price cuts.
Shops with less choice but lower prices are growing by 5-10 percent every year in Sweden.
