Exclusive footage caught by Yle once again revealed the bearded, red-clad Santa Claus heading out to distribute cheer and gifts around the world on Wednesday, a couple of days ahead of Christmas Eve.

According to sources familiar with the iconic figure’s workshop, Santa sets out well ahead of schedule to ensure that he reaches all of his delivery points before Christmas is over.

While Santa Claus is one of the most famous figures in the world and makes long excursions every year, most of the time he resides quietly near his workshop on the Lapland fell of Korvatunturi in northern Finland.
