The family of Jun Lin has met with the media to talk about him and show pictures. Luka Rocco Magnotta is accused of slaying the computer engineering student last May and mailing body parts to the prime minister and some schools. Lin’s family travelled to Montreal from China to follow the court proceedings.
The family went public because they did not want Lin to become a footnote during the judicial process. They wanted people to know who Lin was. The victim’s mother told reporters that since her son’s death she no longer has the will to live. (ld)
