Magnotta was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia as a teenager, according to a document just released. Magnotta is facing several charges in the death and dismemberment of Chinese exchange student Jun Lin in Montreal last year.
A judge approved the release of the document which was submitted as evidence when Magnotta stood trial on fraud charges in 2005. The letter was from a psychiatrist who had been treating him for five years.
At the time the judge told Magnotta “Sir, you have got a medical problem and you need to always take medication. If you do not, your life is going to get messed up.”
