Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber drew a flurry of negative buzz on social media for comments he made about Anne Frank. The 19 year-old visited the Amsterdam museum honouring the Jewish teen who died in a Nazi concentration camp during World War II. Bieber wrote in the guest book, “Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.”The singer’s fans, mostly teen girls, are known as “beliebers.”
Facebook comments said the entry showed disrespect for Frank. One person commented the singer was “way too full of himself.”
Bieber is on tour in Europe.
