Canada’s Governor General David Johnston presided over the investiture of 44 Canadians into the Order of Canada Friday (May 3).
The Order of Canada was created in 1967, during Canada’s centennial year.
It recognizes “a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation. Since its creation, more than 6 000 people from all sectors of society have been invested into the Order.”
Among those honoured psychologist Dyane Adam, sculptor Michel Goulet, hockey player Paul Henderson, former politician Sheila Copps, and actress and radio host Marina Orsini.
