When Robyn Benson heard about a new federal government performance review of public sector employees she was surprised.
As president of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), which represents 180,000 federal employees, Benson knows that performance evaluations have always been a part of the public sector reality.
What worries her is that this is just another excuse for the government to cut down on the number of public service employees.
And that’s hard for her to accept. As public servants, her members have seen the number of people giving services to Canadians drop, as the number of Canadians who need those services rise.
RCI’s Wojtek Gwiazda spoke to Robyn Benson about the performance review announced last week by Treasury Board President Tony Clement.
Audio will be on line in a few minutes.
