On this edition of Politics Today RCI’s Wojtek Gwiazda reports on the surprise resignation of Canada’s Finance Minister Jim Flaherty, a Supreme Court decision involving the appointment of a new justice by Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the resignation of the premier of Canada’s oil-rich western province of Alberta, Alison Redford, and the continuing condemnation of Russia by Canada over the situation in Ukraine.
"I am not prepared to allow party and caucus infighting to get in the way of building a better future for our province," said Alberta provincial premier Alison Redford as she announced her resignation Wednesday, March 19, 2014.
