Listen

How often have you seen a young child throwing a temper tantrum, and/or angrily refusing to obey their parent or acting agressively with the parent or playmate? Perhaps you’ve been in that situation.

Some of that is normal, but when it becomes a recurring situation, there’s a problem, and perhaps a big problem.

Experts say kids who don’t master self-control early on, are more at risk from mental problems, substance abuse, and criminality.  It also represents a huge cost to society generally.

According to a new documentary by Bountiful Films in Vancouver, there is a solution.

The documentary is called “Angry Kids,& Stressed Out Parents” it shows how self-control can be taught to children and how critical the first six years of a child’s life are in achievieng self control and improving a child’s chances in life later on.

Maureen Palmer is the writer and director and I reached her on her mobile phone in Vancouver.
