Canada supports private investment in public infrastructure at G-20 finance minsters meeting

Canada’s new finance minister Joe Oliver says Canada’s economic performance is among the best of the G7 countries and looks forward to further international reforms to balance budgets internationally, and supported private sector investment in infrastructure. He made the statements in Washington at a meeting of G-20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors on Friday (April 11).

Appointed only last month by Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Oliver was greeted in Washington with condolences for former finance minister Jim Flaherty who died on Thursday.
