For fans of racing, the Montreal, Canada stop has always been a huge draw.

The racers generally like the Montreal track – Circuit Gilles Villeneuve- very much, although many have come to know the “wall of champions” a little too intimately. Ironically, for those drivers who end up crashing into it, it’s labelled in big letters, “bienvenue au Quebec” or “welcome to Quebec”

In spite of that, it is certainly a challenging track but appreciated. By drivers like Lewis Hamilton a three time winner, “I guess there are certain tracks you like more than others and this is one of those circuits I particularly like. I really like coming out to Canada, I always have a great response from the fans here.”

There has nonetheless been complaints over the years about the noise, but there is no denying that it brings in vast sums of revenue to the city, although actual figures vary.

The weather for the race, so far, looks good with a mix of sun and cloud for the weekend, with a high of about 27C.
