Canada’s participation in a military advisory role in Iraq was the focus of a House of Commons committee hearing on Tuesday (September 9). The hearing follows last week’s announcement by Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper that Canada was accepting an invitation from U.S. President Barack Obama to help out in Iraq.
The House of Commons committee heard from Canada’s Foreign Affairs and Defence Ministers, both of whom emphasized the importance of Canada’s participation. But both men avoided giving too many details as they were questioned by opposition party MPs.
RCI’s Wojtek Gwiazda has a report.
