RCI Microsite: Aboriginal Peoples, the Other Story

The feature Aboriginal Peoples, the Other Story is based on two series of reports aired on Radio Canada International by anthropologist Serge Bouchard, who closely examined Native American geopolitics in Canada when the Europeans originally landed, as well as North America’s main Aboriginal tribes.

Referring to explorers, navigators, cartographers and merchants from that era, Bouchard takes us on voyage of discovery through time and space, confirming the existence of an extraordinary number of Aboriginal communities. His work is a true testament to the Aboriginal diversity: discover their all but forgotten history.

After the two initial series aired, Radio Canada International’s multilingual teams continued producing interviews and reports on Aboriginal history, culture and spirituality – these were then gathered together to create the Aboriginal Peoples, the Other Story feature.
