S-NO-w in mid-May?

Snow fell overnight in many regions of Ontario and Quebec dashing the hopes that spring is evolving into summer. The unseasonably cool temperatures arrived after a day or two of much anticipated warmth.

Many Canadians are eagerly awaiting the outdoor living that spring and summer bring, but this year so far, the temperatures have been too low keeping people from really getting out and enjoying it all.

This past winter was not particularly harsh, but it went on for weeks and weeks into the spring, with no break in the cold.

In rental accomodations in Montreal, landlords are only obliged to keep the heat on until April 15.  A month later many people still have furnaces and heating systems going strong.

Meterologists promise a big change this week when the mercury will be rising to above 20 C.
