Bright idea lights up night-time need

From Windsor Ontario, comes a solution to a long standing, or sitting(?) need.  Tim Fittler of Fittler Sales and Marketing has developed a a line of toilet seats that glow in the dark.

Created and made in Canada, the seats are coloured a traditional white during the daylight, but emit a bluish or greenish glow at night to light your way.

This is an updated version of an earlier model which had a relatively short “glow time” but which nonetheless sold 50,000 units.

Mr Fittler worked with St. Clair College’s director of applied research and development, Scott O’Neil, in developing a brighter and longer-lasting glow resin.   The seats can now be “charged” with exposure to sunlight, incandescent light, fluorescent light, or even black lights.

The partnership was part of the Colleges Ontario Network for Industry Innovation. The program provides funding to entrepreneurs and inventors, as well as students and instructors, in design, development and marketing of the products.

They retail for C$49.99
