Arctic photos exhibition has travelled around the world

Listen

An exhibition of photos of the Canadian Arctic that was first shown in London in 2009, has now travelled around the world and been seen by tens of thousands of people.

The “Accessible Arctic” exhibition features photos from Canadian Geographic Magazine and was curated by the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa.

The photos date back to the beginning of the magazine in the 1930s to the present, and show not only the ice and snow of the Arctic, but other aspects and seasons as well.

The exhibition has been seen in Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America, and Australia and New Zealand. It is in India right now, in the city of Mumbai until July 7.

It’s not yet decided where it will go next. Canada’s department of Foreign Affairs is a partner in the exhibition tour.

RCI’s Wojtek Gwiazda spoke to Meg Beckel, the President and CEO of the Canadian Museum of Nature, about the exhibition.
