ROM Mesopotamian Exhibit a big hit

The Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto is hosting an exhibit that’s been drawing crowds and rave reviews since its opening in June.  ‘Mesopotamia:  Inventing Our World’ is an opportunity to see the connections between the ancient past and our world today.

170 artefacts, many from the British Museum, beautifully displayed at the ROM, have been drawing people from as far away as Michigan in the United States.

There is a complimentary exhibit, called ‘Catastrophe! Ten Years Later:  The Looting and Destruction of Iraq’s Past.

Carmel Kilkenny spoke with Clemens Reichel, Assistant Professor of Mesopotamian Archaeology at the University of Toronto, and Associate Curator for the Ancient Near-East at the ROM to find out more about the connection between the two exhibits.
