Olympians cheered in the House of Commons

Members of the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic teams who participated in the Sochi Games were celebrated in the House of Commons on Wednesday, June 4 with applause and raucous cheering.

Several athletes took the opportunity to take pictures of themselves with parliamentarians.

At the Olympics, Canada placed third in the medal count with 10 gold medals, 10 silver and five bronze. At the Paralympics the count was seven gold, two silver and seven bronze.
