At least 135,000 mostly young people participated in a giant three-day music festival in Montreal over the weekend.
The Osheaga Music and Arts Festival was headlined by the British rockers Arctic Monkeys, reunited rappers Outkast and blues-rock leading light Jack White.
The festival takes place on five stages at Parc Jean Drapeau, situated on an island in the St. Lawrence River that once housed part of Expo 67, the world’s fair that drew 50 million people back in 1967, the storied Summer of Love.
In addition to attending the stage shows, participants danced in the Silent Disco known as the Igloo.
The Igloo features five state-of-the-art projectors, air conditioning and a 360-degree projection screen that measures over 40 metres in circumference.
Dancers get their music from headphones only, giving the spectator the impression that he really is back in that magical 1967 Summer of Love.
