The first snow-storm of the season is wreaking havoc in the Altantic provinces today.
In New Brunswick nearly 15,000 people are coping wiithout power, schools have been closed as a result, and on the Trans-Canada Highway, traffic is just beginning to move again after a night of grid-lock and accidents.

The power outages are credited to the heavy wet snow that fell, bringing down branches of trees that are still covered in leaves.
The weather system is now moving into Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador, but in its wake, very strong winds are making it challenging to reconnect the power, and get the traffice moving again. Many drivers were forced to spend the night in their vehicles.
In Bathurst, New Brunswick 22.8 centimetres fell since Sunday evening. South of the border, in Maine, in the United States, more than 83,000 people are without power due to same storm system.
