Police in the capital, Ottawa are warning the public that five people have suffered “serious medical complications” from taking a tainted drug being sold as crack cocaine. Police say unidentified chemicals have reportedly been added to the drug and they warn it is possibly still being sold on the streets.
A 29-year-old man suspected of distributing the substance has been arrested and charged with drug and criminal offences. Police continue to investigate and have sent the drug to government laboratories to try to determine its exact contents.
