Didier Drogba got an enthusiastic welcome to Montreal.
Fans, well-wishers and media were crowded into the arrivals section of Trudeau International Airport to greet him this afternoon. With drumming and dancing from his native Ivory Coast, a group that calls themselves his Fan Club, were eagerly awaiting his arrival.
The 37 year-old Ivorian striker is joining the Montreal Impact soccer team. We’ll have more on the acquisition, and the hopes of fans in Montreal.
He later tweeted. “First steps on Canadian soil, What a welcome.”
