On this edition of Politics Today RCI’s Wojtek Gwiazda focuses on the continuing controversy over the so-called Senate expense scandal. There are more questions and denials about who knew what about a cheque made out by the Chief of Staff of Prime Minister Stephen Harper to a Conservative government Senator to cover contested claimed expenses.

The Chief of Staff Nigel Wright has resigned, and the Prime Minister said he was not aware of the deal.

Wojtek also looks at a federal court decision dealing with six electoral ridings in the 2011 federal election. The judge ruled there had been “an orchestrated effort to suppress votes”.

As well Qatar has dropped its bid to move the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) headquarters from Montreal to Doha.

And Canada’s Governor General David Johnston met with some frank talk in South Africa over Canada’s visa policy on members of the African National Congress (ANC).
