Winter Olympic mittens

The Sochi Olympic Games are approaching and here in Canada the countdown is on.

The Olympic flame will arrive in Moscow on October 6th. Meanwhile, Canadians have the opportunity to support our Olympic team with the purchase of the red mittens that became such a hit during Vancouver’s Winter Olympic games.

The Hudson’s Bay company has made the mittens available, and the 2014 versions feature a white tip.  The Bay, as most Canadians know the department store, is part of our history, one of the founding businesses in Canada.  Although it is now owned by an American company, it is donating C$3.33 of the $10 cost of the mittens to the Canadian Olympic Foundation.

The temperatures are dropping across Canada so we can expect to see them soon, and they’re available in sizes to fit all members of the family.
