Michael Geist: 14 Canadian law and technology questions for 2014

Law professor and Internet expert Michael Geist has put together a list of 14 Canadian law and technology questions for the New Year, in an article featured in the Toronto Star newspaper.

According to the University of Ottawa professor, 2014 will be “a very significant one for law and technology” and suggests 14 questions (and answers) that he feels will affect Canadian technology law policy.

He wonders if the federal government will “finally unveil a national digital strategy” and suggests there’s hope because of a new minister of industry.

He raises questions about the future of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), as well as the impact in Canada of the Edward Snowden surveillance revelations.
