Cirque du Soleil latest cancellation in Tel Aviv

Cirque du Soleil is the latest group to cancel upcoming performances in Israel.

Promoters Marek Lieberberg and Shuki Weiss, said in a statement today: “We have to announce the postponement of Cirque du Soleil’s Quidam to 2015,”

Performances by the Montreal-based international entertainment extravaganza were scheduled daily, from August 6th to the 21st at the Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv.

The promoters wrote, “Unfortunately it is impossible to secure the safety of the ensemble and the audience at this time. Hence we have no choice but to look forward to an alternative and peaceful period to return to Israel as soon as we can,”

This is the second cancellation for Shuki Weiss after Neil Young was forced to cancel his July 17th show in Tel Aviv for the same reasons.

And Canadian singer, Paul Anka is postponing his two shows scheduled for July 24th and 26th.
