Haiti en folie is the largest multi-disciplinary festival devoted to Haitian culture outside of Haiti and will attract thousands of visitors and tourists.

Beginning Tuesday and running through Sunday, Haiti en folie features music, dance, exotic food, handicrafts and–on Saturday evening–a giant parade, known as RARA.

(What does RARA mean? Hint: split it into two syllables and pronounce.)

The festival is the brain child of human dynamo Fabienne Colas, a Montreal director, producer and actor, who began dreaming about such a celebration in 2006

In 2007 she launched.

It was a one-day celebration.

Haiti en folie has done nothing but grow ever since.

Colas came to the RCI studios Monday morning to talk about her dream come true.
