Everyone who drives a vehicle wonders about the inexplicable jumps in pump prices, and the equally inexplicable rise and fall of prices.
Almost everyone complains about exhorbitant prices, but imagine that after you stopped pumping gas, the pump keeps ringing up the bill.
That’s what a motorist in Laval Quebec noticed in October
Dylan Fisher noticed that after he had stopped filling his vehicle on October 5 , some several seconds later the pump rang up a few more cents.
The petroleum company, Suncor, which owns PetroCan stations said it’s pumps are inspected annually, but sometimes they will end up malfunctioning. Suncor says when an operator notices a problem the pump is immediately shut down.
He told the station manager, but the next day, the same thing happened and he wondered why the pump had been allowed to continue dispensing gas and overcharging, so he filmed it. He said by Oct 17, the pump had been repaired.
He said he became aware of such problems after seeing a similar situation in a video from an Esso station.
He suggests that when people stop pumping, they should wait a few seconds to ensure the pump doesn’t add a few more cents to your bill.
