Canada’s most populous provinces of Ontario and Quebec were hit by the first snowstorm of the winter season overnight. The storm is now (November 27) affecting the Atlantic coast provinces.
Across the southern and eastern parts of Canada’s most populous province of Ontario, the weather system dumped the season’s first load of heavy, wet snow, with more expected through western Quebec. A number of accidents on slippery roads were reported by police. In one case a woman’s car slid into a river. She was rescued and taken to hospital suffering from hypothermia.
The same storm system moving across Eastern Canada is also south of the border, a day before the United States Thanksgiving Day holiday.
Snow has fallen in more northern parts of the Canada in the last few weeks, but is now affecting some of Canada’s major cities such as Toronto and Montreal.
