Laurent Imbault and his wife, Katherine Adams, had a vision and it's coming true. We see Imbault on the left, a handsome man with long greying hair and Adams a very attractive brunette. Imbault is hugging Adams with his left hand. Both have wide smiles on their faces.

Website focuses on the best of our actions

For those of you who tend to despair over the state of the world, hang just a little bit tough. There’s plenty of good news to be had out there. Really!

Just turn off the telly, fold up the newspaper and Google goodnewstv.org., a website filled with the stuff of dreams and hope.

GoodnessTV.org is the brainchild of Canadian actor Laurent Imbault and his wife, Katherine Adams that began in 2009 when the couple asked themselves some hard questions about the legacies they would leave.

Six years later, after a lot of hard work, GoodnessTV.org has over 8,000 videos in 21 languages with viewers in 145 countries.

What those videos–some produced by GoodnessTV.org staff, others produced by the 650 NGOs that the site hosts–have in common is clear: a focus on the positive, stories about people working for the betterment of humankind.

Just some of the 8,000 video choices on the goodnesstv.org website. We see pictures of eight videos lined up four atop on the below the website logo which mixes blues and greens.

If this all sounds like some sort of 1960s fantasy, be assured it isn’t.

It’s all happening right now–a labor of love and–like the world–a work in progress, staffed by volunteers, including Imbault and Adams, that’s open to contributions from anyone from anywhere who seeks a better world.

Laurent Imbault took time out from his 10-hour work day to speak with RCI by phone from his office in Montreal.
