A screengrab from the Students for Western Civilization website is shown in a handout photo. We see a long shot of the Toronto skyline from Lake Ontario, which appears to be very calm. To the right, on the water, is a two-masted sail boat with sails flying from its rear mast. Above the salmon-coloured sky over the skyline and written in large white letters are the words "Students for Western Civilization." Below that in a box are the words, written in red, "Excalibur, York University's Official Student Newspaper, Refused to Publish this Article:" Below that, in white, are the words, "York Needs A White Students Union."

‘White students’ union are removed in Toronto

Posters that appear to advertise a union for white students have been taken down at three universities in Toronto.

The flyers show two white men in front of a picture of the CN Tower with the words “White Students Union!” pointing to their website.

The University of Toronto, Ryerson University and York University say the group, called Students for Western Civilization, was not sanctioned at any of the schools and not allowed to put up the posters.

On the website, there is an article saying York University’s student paper, Excalibur, refused to publish a piece titled “York Needs A White Students Union!”

The article says a white students’ union would promote and celebrate the culture of western civilization.

The people behind the group couldn’t immediately be reached for
comment.
