Boxing Day looms, the rush to purchase all the presents bound for the bottom of the Christmas Tree is done, and a new survey shows that more and more Canadians are paying with plastic.
A poll by global processing payment firm Moneris found that 77 per cent of respondents would rather use debit or credit cards than cash.
Loyality programs, tap-and-go technology and mobile apps are making the shopping process easier, and 65 per cent of respondents to the poll said said they rarely buy anything with cash anymore.
But using only credit cards may come with, ahem, a cost.
