Eye on the Arctic brings you stories and newsmakers from across the North  

On this week’s news round-up, we bring you some of your most read stories on Eye on the Arctic this week:

  • Canada’s environment commissioner Julie Gelfand slammed Canada this week (story in French) for its lack of preparedness when it comes to marine safety and traffic in the Arctic
  • Danish toy-maker Lego cuts ties with Shell after Greenpeace campaign.  Greenpeace has long campaigned against Shell’s drilling activities in the Arctic, concerned with how a potential oil spill could impact nature and wildlife in the area. Lego’s partnership with Shell  involved Shell-branded toy kits along with promotional items at gas stations.
